BLACKFISH: 1. What kind of shots do you notice are used most often in the documentary? What is their impact on the film? Mainly long shots to get the shots of the whales and the trainer. There were also some mid and close shots for the interviews. There were impactful because if they were different, the audience's perspective would be really different. They also helped the audience understand what was happening, and so they could get a better look on things. The shots were also moving a lot, following the whales around, making the audience feel like they are there. 2. What interview and narration style does the film tend to use? How does it work in telling the subject’s story in the documentary? There was mainly voiceover narrations and indirect interview. It makes you feel like the interviewee is talking to you, and you feel really connected to them.
