For this project, I was working with Hannah. The project was to make an electromagnetic fishing rod to catch fish (that were paper-clips). Out electromagnet works because we have a closed circuit. The closed circuit is made up of wire, batteries, and a switch. First, we had batteries to make electricity run through the circuit. Then we had wires coming out of the batteries so that they could make a closed circuit. Next on the wooden stick was our switch. The switch was made up of two thumbtacks pushed into the wood, side by side. On one thumbtack, both wires (the battery and the coiled wires) were wrapped around the thumbtack, touching. This made one side of the circuit closed, and one side open. For the other thumbtack, there was a paperclip to make the switch close and open.
