What I Know So Far About Mixtures And Solutions
A mixture is two or more materials mixed together like peanut butter and jelly. Some mixtures can be separated by a filter or screen. A mixture is different from a solution because, a mixture can be separated by a filter or a screen. A mixture can be in any form of matter like gases, liquids, and solids.
A solution is when you mix a solid and a liquid, then the solid disappears (dissolves) into the liquid, and that mixture cannot be separated by a screen or a filter. For example, salt and water. When you mix salt and water, the salt (the solid) dissolves into the water. Then, the salt can't be separated by a filter or a screen. But, when you let the solution evaporate, some crystals will form because some salt pieces get joined together. A solution can also be a mixture.
